Innovation Center's inauguration ceremony

2. Innovation Center's inauguration ceremony

On Friday, 2 September, the official ceremony for the inauguration of the WIKA Innovation Center and the belated celebration of the company's 75th anniversary took place. More than 300 guests from politics and business, customers and business partners as well as former and active employees were invited.

Interesting speeches, videos and guided tours gave insights into the company and a confident outlook for the future. A special highlight was the musical performance by two violinists, accompanied by the visualisation of impressive chemical experiments – the “Dance of Molecules”.

We thank everyone for the successful ceremony with many interesting speakers and guests, lasting impressions and exciting conversations.

Safe design of thermometer thermowells

4. Safe design of thermometer thermowells

The safe design of thermometer thermowells always presents plant operators with challenges. NAMUR recommendations and DIN standards do not provide details on the required calculations, tests and certificates. This also applies to the pressure equipment directive. However, the AD 2000 regulations, which are compliant with it, offer a way out.

In short, a thermowell design that complies with the AD 2000 regulations fulfils requirements that the user does not need to specify in detail. With all these specifications, the user of the thermowell is on the safe side. You can find out what these are in the following technical article.

Hydrogen as a beacon of hope

5. Hydrogen as a beacon of hope

The use of hydrogen is seen as the key to decarbonisation in the chemical industry and as a beacon of hope for achieving the net zero target. The chemical industry needs hydrogen to reduce its dependence on fossil resources – on the one hand to remain economically viable in the long term, and on the other hand to come closer to the goal of climate neutrality.

Hydrogen leakage is emerging as an evident challenge in the hydrogen value chain, which, without the necessary precautions, endangers the decarbonisation of the chemical industry. Due to our long experience and expertise in the hydrogen and chemical industry, we are able to offer excellent products and individual consultation. You also have the opportunity to do a self-check for the future in our white paper.

Meeting all requirements in the chemical industry

6. Meeting all requirements in the chemical industry

We look on ourselves not as suppliers of measurement technology components, but as a competent partner, offering comprehensive solutions in close co-operation with its customers. Individually fitted and accurately aligned to each requirement.

The chemical and petrochemical industries make extremely high demands on all instruments used within the process. They are subject to strict international guidelines. The high precision and quality of WIKA's time-proven products ensure maximum plant availability here. To make it easier to find the right product for you, we have a new visualisation. In this way you can quickly and easily find the product for your application.

Certification in accordance with the ISO 19443 nuclear standard

7. Certification in accordance with the ISO 19443 nuclear standard

Our company has been certified by TÜV SÜD in accordance with the new quality management standard ISO 19443:2018 for civil nuclear projects, making us the first company in Germany, and the fourth worldwide, with this status.

Level monitoring using differential pressure

9. Level monitoring using differential pressure

In many processes in the pharmaceutical industry, reliable level monitoring is indispensable. For level control in the preparation of culture media, a manufacturer of antibiotics has opted for WIKA's electronic differential pressure measuring system with two process transmitters. It operates with high accuracy and is also insensitive to ambient temperatures.

With electronic differential pressure measurement, level monitoring in the pharmaceutical industry receives a highly accurate measuring solution which can be applied flexibly. Read our new blog post and learn more about level monitoring using differential pressure.
